How Does Crysosurgery Work?

Cryosurgery is a type of surgery that uses extreme cold to destroy abnormal tissue selectively, such as tumors.
Pets tolerate well with minimal discomfort and minimal to no anesthesia required. Therefore, it is useful for pets who are geriatric and/or have higher anesthetic risks.
This type of surgery uses liquid nitrogen.
When liquid nitrogen has a temperature between -346 and -320 degrees Fahrenheit, it instantly freezes nearly anything it comes in contact with. As abnormally inflamed cancerous cells will not thaw like healthy tissues, it's useful to get rid of unpleasant skin tumors.
Sometimes more than one treatment is required. Depending on the size and depth of the lump, our medical team will work with you to devise a treatment plan that is best for your pet.
